The biggest reason I use WordPress is that it is free software that you can download and install on your servers to create websites. Many people use WordPress for their own websites but you can also create a stand alone blog or attach a blog to your static website.
The bottom line is that WordPress has the ability to generate pages and posts for websites. Pages are by nature “static content” that rarely changes, while posts are a accumulation of items that you post and will show up in your sites RSS feed.
I like WordPress because, out of the box, it is a very Search Engine Friendly system, and is very interactive with your visitors allowing them to leave comments.
